When you see a house like this, you know they got that MONEY! From Dirt.com comes this feature of a monster 56,000 square foot Toronto palace owned by rapper and business mogul Drake. There’s a link to Drake’s website dedicated to giving you a fabulous virtual tour of his mansion. And of course, being the businessman that he is, there are some product placement promos scattered throughout the tour. Very clever. I may have to do a follow up video on that business strategy.
Do you have a hole burning in your pockets, and need some land near our Plano studios in one of the most lucrative areas in the country? If you haven’t heard by now, the Professional Golf Association, or PGA, is opening a massive headquarters campus in the next door Dallas suburb of Frisco, just north of Plano, in what we call the billionaire zone, or the 50Plano Hot Zone. From Dallas Business Journal comes this news that “nearly 77 acres that were previously the site of a proposed mixed-use development are now up for sale in Frisco.” The price is not specified in the story, but the neighboring 240-acre PGA headquarters project, called the Link development, is worth a whopping $1 billion. It’s zoned for mixed use, so expect some upscale lifestyle and entertainment amenities, similar to the nearby The Star in Frisco, home to the Dallas Cowboys headquarters, Legacy West, which we featured in our Christmas video a few days ago (go check it out), Shops at Legacy in Plano where our headquarters is, and Grandscape in The Colony, which is very, very nice and pimpin! The deal that topped our list is the swank, secluded island castle that “Tim McGraw and Faith Hill sold…in the Bahamas for a whopping $35 million.” Whew what a pleasant looking pad. And speaking of PGA, in nearby Palm Beach, Florida, pro golfer Dustin Johnson has an equally immaculate mansion beast with an insane infinity pool, private boat ramp and dock, all with 7 bedrooms under the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire! Well, at least the roof is on fire from a lit, expensive perspective. The golfer sold the estate for $16 million earlier this year. Finally, not far away near Orlando, Florida, the big man, NBA great Shaquille O’Neal, sold his oversized upscale compound for $11 million. Insider.com says “The house is located in the exclusive Isleworth community…and has 12 bedrooms, a home theater, views of the lake, and marble floors.” Not bad since Shaq bought it for $4 milli in 1993.
To wrap up this report comes this dazzling display from our buddies at Neiman Marcus, the venerable originator of the luxury store concept based here in Dallas, about 20 miles south of our Plano headquarters. With so many toney, uppity Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties coming up, surely you want all eyes on your impeccable style. And be sure to throw in a bag for your wife or your mistress, whoever you choose to step out with lol.
